Markus Ong earned his PhD in materials science and engineering from Stanford University and was a staff researcher developing and characterizing nanomaterials at Sandia National Laboratories before moving to Spokane to teach at Whitworth University where he is currently an associate professor in the Department of Engineering & Physics. He seeks to support the university’s mission to provide its diverse student body an education of the mind and the heart, equipping its graduates to honor God, follow Christ, and serve humanity.
