The Penultimate Curiosity is a documentary (2017) featuring the Oxford-based artist Roger Wagner and Professor of Physics Andrew Briggs, which accompanies a book of the same name (Oxford University Press, 2016). The protagonists take a tour of great centers of learning and thought to answer one of the most important and profound questions about the development of knowledge. They find that science develops in the wake of ultimate questions about the meaning and purpose of life. Both presenters are Christians, although the material they present doesn’t presuppose any faith commitment on the part of the audience.
