A series of thought-provoking talks for Lent from St Mary’s, Great Shelford and The Faraday Institute.
Four excellent speakers who work at the interface between science and faith will help us to explore some significant contemporary issues. They are focusing on how we can find hope in the face of suffering. Please come along to listen and to discuss the issues and maybe come away more hopeful.
- Thurs 13th March, Hope in Artificial Intelligence, Graham Budd, FIET, is Executive Director of The Faraday Institute. He was previously President and COO at Arm.
- Thurs 20th March, Hope in Disaster, Professor Robert (Bob) White, FRS, is Emeritus Director of The Faraday Institute and former Professor of Geophysics at Cambridge.
- Thurs 3rd April, Evolution, Suffering and Hope, Denis Alexander is Emeritus Director of The Faraday Institute. He was previously Chair of the Molecular Immunology Programme at The Babraham Institute
- Thurs 10th April, Hope in Suffering, Rebecca Fitzgerald OBE FRS is Professor of Cancer Prevention and Hon. Consultant in Gastroenterology. Rebecca is Director of the Early Cancer Institute at the University of Cambridge.
