The aim of the Faraday Research Hubs is to build community around academically rigorous research in the field of science, technology and religion.
This month marks the launch of a new Research Hub led by Dr Pui Him Ip at The Faraday Institute, in partnership with the Fetzer Institute, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, the Institutional Flourishing Lab at the Catholic University of America, and the Copenhagen Center for Science and Faith.
Does science have a contemplative dimension, and if so would this impact how we understand and practice scientific inquiry?
The central hypothesis of Science as a Contemplative Activity’s is that natural science involves contemplation or training that activates moments of contemplative experience. This suggests that an analogous language and experience of contemplation can be found amongst natural scientists. Read more on our Research pages.
